Full torque for pipes and nuts thanks to the self-locking effect
After pressing the Knipex Alligator XL, the pliers remain independently attached to the pipes and nuts. This self-locking effect is possible thanks to the special jaw geometry developed by Knipex. The user does not have to squeeze the handles together, but can convert all the energy directly into torque. This feature is especially useful when it comes to unscrewing very large and stuck connections (up to 95 mm wrench opening).

Compact design and large gripping capacity
Pipe and heating installations are often carried out in tight conditions. The curved adjustment opening and thin head shape of the Knipex Alligator are an advantage here. Although the pliers are compact, their gripping widths are surprisingly large thanks to the 11-step locking adjustment: pipes up to 90 mm in diameter (3 ½ inches) and nuts up to 95 mm wrench opening. The XL version is especially suitable for industrial assembly, farms and for large construction machines and trucks.

Stable and wear-resistant – even when used outdoors
Knipex Alligator offers a box joint design and double guidance for very high stability for professional use. The teeth of the gripping surfaces are induction hardened to about 61 HRC, which ensures a long service life and a firm “grip” on the detail. The Knipex Alligator XL is durable, easy to clean and therefore the ideal tool for working outdoors. The pliers have a black phosphated finish, and their head is precisely finished. The handles are covered with non-slip plastic.
