The YATO MMA inverter welding machine ARCMATE 145E is designed for welding with coated electrodes and allows the welding current to be set within the range of 30–140 A. The machine operates on direct current and is suitable for welding steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper, aluminium and other materials. According to the manufacturer, the welding current allows welding steel profiles and parts with a wall thickness of up to 6 mm.
The machine complies with the CE requirements applicable to welding equipment and has a tested and approved safeguard against electric shock caused by high voltage. The LC filter helps protect devices connected to the same power supply from voltage fluctuations that occur during welding.
RICHIP microprocessor
The welding process is controlled by the RICHIP microprocessor, designed for welding equipment. It analyses welding parameters up to 200 million times per second and controls the IGBT transistors up to 70 000 times per second. This allows the welding current and voltage to be adjusted, for example, according to the distance between the electrode and the workpiece. Each decision to open or close a transistor is based on more than 2800 measurement samples. RICHIP combines control functions in a single solution, so separate electronic modules are not needed for ARC FORCE, ANTI STICK and HOT START. The absence of additional modules helps reduce possible faults and the effect of interference occurring during welding on the welding result.
Arc ignition and control
HOT START briefly increases the welding current when the electrode comes into contact with the workpiece, making it easier to ignite the arc. ARC FORCE adjusts the arc dynamics according to the distance between the electrode and the workpiece, increasing or decreasing the welding current. ANTI STICK interrupts the welding current in the event of an electrode short circuit, allowing the electrode to be removed from the material.
VRD and overheating protection
VRD reduces the open-circuit voltage from approximately 60 volts to a level that is safer for people. RICHIP quickly detects when the electrode contacts the workpiece, then switches off VRD and activates HOT START to make arc ignition easier even when using VRD.
Overload and overheating protection monitors the temperature of important components in real time. As the temperature rises, the machine first controls the fan speed according to the cooling requirements. If the temperature becomes too high, the microprocessor smoothly reduces the output current so that the electrode can be used to completion or welding can be stopped in a controlled manner.
The electrode holder and ground clamp cables are made of CCA material. The power cord is type H07RN-F 3G 1,5 mm². The machine is also suitable for use with a generator and, according to the technical specifications, with electrodes 1,6–3,2 mm in diameter.
