The YATO MMA inverter welding machine ARCMATE 125E, with a welding current of 35–110 A, is designed for DC welding with coated electrodes. It is suitable for welding steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper, aluminium and other materials using acidic or basic electrodes. A welding current of up to 110 A allows welding steel profiles and parts with wall thicknesses of up to 4 mm. The machine meets the CE requirements applicable to welding equipment and has a tested and approved protection system against electric shock caused by high voltage. The LC filter helps protect devices connected to the same electrical network from voltage fluctuations that occur during welding.
RICHIP microprocessor
The machine was developed through a collaboration between YATO and RILAND, a company specialising in welding equipment. The RICHIP microprocessor controls the welding process and analyses welding parameters up to 200 million times per second. It controls the IGBT transistors up to 70,000 times per second and adjusts the welding current and voltage, for example, according to the distance between the electrode and the workpiece. Each decision to open or close a transistor is based on more than 2,800 measured values. Separate electronic modules are not needed to control ARC FORCE, ANTI STICK and HOT START.
Arc ignition and control
HOT START briefly increases the welding current when the electrode is placed on the material to make it easier to strike the arc. ARC FORCE adjusts the arc dynamics according to the distance between the electrode and the workpiece: the microprocessor analyses the measurement results in real time and increases or decreases the welding current accordingly. ANTI STICK interrupts the welding current if the electrode short-circuits, allowing it to be removed from the material.
VRD and overheating protection
VRD reduces the open-circuit voltage from approximately 60 volts to a level that is safer for people. RICHIP detects contact between the electrode and the workpiece by monitoring changes in the electrical circuit signal. When contact is detected, the machine switches off VRD and activates HOT START to make it easier to strike the arc.
The microprocessor monitors the temperature of critical components in real time. If necessary, it first adjusts the fan speed and, if the temperature becomes too high, smoothly reduces the output current. This allows the electrode to be used to the end or the welding process to be completed in a controlled manner. Cooling starts as needed.
Connection cables
The electrode holder and ground clamp leads are made of CCA material. The power cable is type H07RN-F 3G1.5 mm².
