The YATO MMA inverter welding machine ARCMATE 205E enables welding with coated electrodes using direct current at a welding current of 35–200 A. The device complies with the CE requirements applicable to welding equipment and has a tested and approved protection against electric shock caused by high voltage. The LC filter helps protect devices connected to the same power supply from voltage fluctuations that occur during welding.
RICHIP microprocessor
The device was developed through a collaboration between YATO and RILAND, a company specialising in welding equipment. The RICHIP microprocessor controls the welding process and analyses its parameters up to 200 million times per second. It controls the IGBT transistors up to 70 000 times per second and adjusts the welding current and voltage according to the welding conditions. The decision to open or close a transistor is based on more than 2800 measurement samples. RICHIP integrates the control of welding functions into a single solution, so separate electronic modules are not needed for features such as Arc Force and Hot Start.
Hot Start and Arc Force
When the electrode comes into contact with the material being welded, Hot Start briefly increases the welding current to make it easier to strike the arc. Arc Force adjusts the arc dynamics according to the distance between the electrode and the workpiece, increasing or decreasing the welding current.
Anti-stick and VRD
In the event of an electrode short circuit, Anti-stick cuts off the welding current so the electrode can be removed from the material. VRD reduces the open-circuit voltage from approximately 60 volts to a safer level. RICHIP analyses changes in the signal waveform in the welding circuit at a frequency of approximately 200 MHz; these changes vary at different stages of welding. When the electrode comes into contact with the workpiece, the processor detects it quickly, switches off VRD and activates Hot Start to make it easier to strike the arc.
Overheating protection and cooling
The microprocessor continuously monitors the temperature of critical components. As the temperature rises, the device first adjusts the fan speed. If the temperature becomes too high, the microprocessor smoothly reduces the output current, allowing the electrode to be used up or the welding process to be completed in a controlled manner.
The electrode holder and earth clamp cables are made of CCA material. The power cord is type H07RN-F 3G 2,5 mm².
