Technical Specifications

Professional refractometer for measuring working fluids of cars, trucks and buses. It also provides the density range of the electrolyte.
Allows to determine the physical properties of the liquid
Thanks to this, you can determine:
- battery condition
- freezing point of the liquid based on propylene glycol or ethyl alcohol
- freezing point of the windshield washer fluid

The set also includes a sample pipette and a cleaning cloth.

Measuring the liquid:
- Put a small amount of liquid with a pipette.
- Lift the plate and place 2-3 drops of liquid on the prism of the instrument.
- Set the plate so that it distributes evenly with the prism. There should be no visible air bubbles.

Wait approximately 30 seconds for the liquid to reach the temperature of the device, then direct the diffusion plate towards the light source, look at the eyepiece.
If the image in the eyepiece is not clear, adjust the focus by turning the focus ring. The boundary between dark and light surfaces determines the properties of the liquid, which is read on the corresponding scale.

When testing the battery electrolyte, the scale marked with the battery symbol should be read. The result is obtained in kilograms per liter and the scale is additionally described with battery charge levels. If the boundary remains in the described area GOOD, it means that the battery does not need to be charged; "FAIR" - charging is not yet necessary, but may be necessary soon; "RECHARGE" - the battery needs to be charged.

If the test is based on propylene glycol liquid, the freezing point can be read on the scale described as "PROPYLENE".
If the test is based on ethanol-based liquid, the freezing point can be read on the scale titled "ETHYLENE".
When testing the windshield washer fluid, the freezing temperature can be read on the scale marked with the washer symbol.

Device calibration:
Caution! Calibration must be performed at an ambient temperature of 20 ° C. It must also be ensured that the device has reached the ambient temperature. Check the accuracy of the measurement before each measurement. To do this, use distilled water and measure as described above. The boundaries of light and dark areas should coincide with the figure "WATERLINE". If this is not the case, it should be done by turning the calibration screw with the included screwdriver.
A properly calibrated device should allow measurement at an ambient temperature between -10 ° C and +50 ° C.
